Buying guide: start with your space
Most of the questions we receive are not about products, but about the spot. This guide helps you ask the right questions before anything is ordered.
1. Where will it go?
Indoors or outdoors, how much room there is, how high the ceiling is and how you get there dry. A photo of the spot says more than a description.
2. Who will use it?
Two people on a weekday evening need something different from six friends at the weekend. Number and frequency determine size, output and maintenance.
3. How will you heat it?
Electric is convenience; wood is ritual. First look at what your connection and your surroundings allow.
4. What is the budget, including everything else?
Foundation, cable, flue, water and drainage are part of it. Count them in before you look at the product.
